Staying Positive and Reducing Stress in a Fast Paced World

People are constantly working to make real improvements in the world. New waves of communication and better technology have lead to increased life spans and seemingly better lives.

While there are many positives when it comes to modern life, the downside is that sometimes people try to cram too many things into one day. In this fast paced world, stress may get the better of you and you might have trouble looking on the bright side.

Scheduling Downtime

You may feel like you should always be doing something productive. However, taking care of yourself is ultimately the most productive thing you can do. When you’ve given yourself proper rest and permission to do whatever you want once in awhile, you’ll be better able to focus great efforts on the other things in your life that matter.

People that schedule downtime for themselves clearly have lower stress levels. Allow yourself a proper amount of time for rest. Get 6-8 hours of sleep at night and avoid the temptation to stay up doing something else with that time.

You should also allow yourself a portion of the day where you get to do whatever you want. Even when time is short, let yourself enjoy a few minutes of total relaxation sometime during the day to rejuvenate.

Scheduling proper downtime also gives you time for reflection. When you reflect on your life, you can concentrate on the meaning of it all. You’ll be more likely to truly enjoy your journey. It’s so easy to let life pass you by if you don’t take some time to reflect.

Concentrating On Attitude

Thinking positively is something you can choose to do regardless of your circumstances in life. Everyone struggles with it from time to time, and you owe it to yourself to focus on having a positive attitude. Continue reading “Staying Positive and Reducing Stress in a Fast Paced World”

How to Make Your Own Aromatherapy Hand Sanitizer

Aromatherapy Hand Sanitizer

It is a fact the commercial hand sanitizers are chemically-scented and made with toxic ingredients. While they do kill bacteria and viruses, these chemicals also seep into the pores of the skin and are absorbed into the bloodstream.

The primary active ingredients in these sanitizers are Ethyl alcohol and Isopropyl alcohol. Ethyl alcohol is also know as ethanol, pure alcohol, grain alcohol and drinking alcohol. This is what kills the germs. Ethyl alcohol is used in some cosmetics to enhance the absorption of other ingredients, which means that anything mixed with it will move through the skin and into the bloodstream more easily.

If you are not a fan of commercial hand sanitizers, here are two recipes that are very easy to make at home. The first one is more like the gel type of hand sanitizer and the other one is a spray. They both work great, it just depends on your preference. Both of these hand sanitizer recipes are nice to have on hand because they act as both a hand sanitizer and a natural antiseptic.

Each ingredient has many purposes in these recipes besides cleaning your hands. The tea tree and lavender essential oils help to fight germs with their anti-bacterial properties. The Witch Hazel is a natural germ killer among other things and the Aloe Vera Gel is so healing to the skin that it has been used by many cultures around the world for thousands of years. Vitamin E oil helps heal the skin while serving as a product preservative.

Does a crease in the ear lobe mean heart problems?

A diagonal crease across your earlobe at a 45 degree downward angle toward your shoulder may be an early warning sign of a potentially fatal heart attack, according to reports in Modern Medicine (57,10:126) and British Heart Journal (611,4:361).

You might think we are pulling your umm ear, but, scientists have been studying the amazing ear-crease phenomenon since 1973 with inconclusive results until this research report. In this study, they found telltale ear creases in both fat and skinny people who died from sudden heart attacks, so weight was not a factor. The common denominator was sudden death, often in people who apparently did not know how sick they were.
